Morning All!

I'll be a new name to a lot of you reading this, but to a select few, I'm an old face. To you old-skoolers out there, yea, I still have my Tech 1. Yea, it's still in bits. Nah, I don't care because after all, it's a project, right?

So I had a look around the Zone tonight, read a few post and realised TWO things.....

1. Prices have gone up 'a bit' (read as "a f**k-ton") for genuine mint stuff.
Maplights at £80+,
Tech1 valances needing a respray £175 and
(dis)comfort interiors for £275  .
Back in the day those bits were £45/£100/£40 a go... and that's IF you could get rid of them!
At this rate, my Sport is now worth somewhere close to how much I've spent on it! :snigger:

2. That there are still some old names chatting the same B.S that they always used to  There's also a whole drove of new ones talking even more :piss: than before

What remains though, are some amazing people who give their time and knowledge to those who have stumbled into E30 ownership, for free. And that's the way that I like to remember The Zone before I went all modern and needed a car to be comfortable and quiet and all that other boring sh*t.

Kermit13, Barry, BrianMooooooooooooore  Ole 'God Boy' Roger you four are like constants of the Universe! PacerPete you deviant, You're my hero!

So Old-Skoolers, tell me.... who can I trust to buy off these days? I'd like to get some stuff for the Sport and The people that I know seem to have moved on.

Eternally,
Your Brother In Rust

Hey Scott, it's been a while, and yes prices have gone up and there are no signs of stopping, it's all down to supply and demand I'm afraid.

With regards to buying parts etc, the same old names remain i.e. Barry (bss325i), Pacerpete, Magpie, Z3i, bmwmad, B7 etc, a few new names have appeared with regards to selling parts such as sskoda. It's best to have a look at the Feedback section (I seem to be doing alright on there also :) ).

I thought the Sport would have long gone, surprised you still have it, what modern beast are you driving these days?, did you sell the RS4?

Morning Scott, Just cleaned up that set of 15" bbs I bought off you ages ago after bending the touring to put on the E21.

Prices are climbing steadily for nearly everything, even basic new spares are going up.

Are you still based up Carmarthen way or permanently down reading way now?

Hi again all.

Since January a few things have changed and as much as I'd like to finish the project that I started back in June 2004  , the time has come to officially put her up for sale as a complete E30 and Spares job lot, or do one final Frag and split the old girl down. :(

I would rather she go to a home where the jobs will be finished and she will have a final hoo-rah!
I am now in Swansea, so 'only' 45 miles away from my folks home where the car is stored in a wonderfully dry garage but I still don't have the time as not only am I now a mature student doing an Engineering Degree but I am also starting my own company which will keep me in the bike industry. (PacerPete, the Sturmy Archers live on!)

So My Sport and all my spares will be going up for sale on the Parts forum (Mods, of course, feel free to move it to Cars for sale if necessary) but as it's currently on blocks, I feel Parts Forum is more appropriate.

So anyway, this may be my last 6 months as an E30 Owner, gentlemen.

I beg your pardon? At what point in the last 12 months, no, sorry, 36 months, have I traded with ANYONE here and been "unreliable"?
Quite frankly I find that unfair an offensive chap, given that you offer no evidence to that initial claim.

I would actually appreciate it if you deleted that post and sent me a PM explaining any grievance and if I've caused you any untoward inconvenience, I will of course offer you an appropriate apology.

Well actually for that I can't offer an apology because my Zone settings are set for me to get an email when I get a PM or thread response... and it doesn't send me any.

I've tried resetting my email address but I get nothing, so subsequently I don't know I've had a reply. As this is a final decision, I will be checking the forum manually and replying to threads daily, or multiple times daily where possible. (like this post for example - my inbox is empty but I'm checking manually as I am now aware of the notification problem to my inbox.) This is only something I've become aware of tonight.
Yes, I could have investigated earlier if I'd thought about WHY I wasn't getting notifications and for that, yes, I do apologise to you if my lack of response speed has been frustrating.

LOL. Yea, there are some decent bits in the collection.

Yes, I had omitted the number as I was still working on the advert.
If you want to chat, drop me a PM and i'll pitch you my number via PM - I'll put it up on the forum Tuesday when I've done another 200 photos and a proper logically organised advert.
