That advert says for rear shockers. So shouldn't have a problem.

They will fit as long as you ensure that there is a large load spreading washer fitted between it and the rear top mount.
On the original E30 dampers, this washer is part of the dust cover, but this might not be the case with these.

Well said Brian , i've had an e30 in for rear top mount replacements because they never fitted the spreader washers to the new dampers, the lad drove his car 30 mile to my place on just the springs as both bushes had pushed through

Another advert (not this one) says that the mk2 golf has the same shocks and if this is the case then these could be worth a go.
Is anyone in the car parts game that can confirm this?
Mart.

No idea if golf and E30 rear dampers are the same, but I think you'd be well advised to consider spending a bit more than £12.30 for a new rear damper.

Bilstein B4 rear dampers are £40 each, why would you buy anything of lesser quality?

Less than 30 quid for rear shocks? They'll probably fall apart after 1k miles or sooner...
Never heard of KYB shocks either.

These were on offer so does it make them a less quality item ?Brianmoooore wrote:No idea if golf and E30 rear dampers are the same, but I think you'd be well advised to consider spending a bit more than £12.30 for a new rear damper.
Like I said in my post before,
1k per year ?? 316 Baur?? weekend toy??
When you cross reference the e-30 and some of the VW MK 2 Golfs and some of the Seat`s, this item seems to be the same.
All I was looking for was saving a few pounds that did not need to be spent on what could be the same gear. This could help other people as well.
Cheers, Mart.

The RRP is £16.50! These things, and other parts of a similar low price, are made for back street dealers to get a car through a MOT test, before punting it on to some unsuspecting uninformed mug.martauto wrote:

What's the annual mileage got to do with anything? This is a vital and critical suspension part, affecting the handling and safety of the vehicle.[/code]

KYB are good. More common on American and Japanese cars.

I may be guilty of being a "mug" now and then but I`m not "unsuspecting and uninformed" and if asking questions puts me into that category then so be it.
I only asked if they would fit, if I bought them or not is up to me.
Thanks for your time guy`s
Mart.

All sorted now thanks to my very understanding S/Yorks friend.
I can see why people are leaving the Zone when simple questions do not seem to fit the criteria of certain people and now "zone team members" .
We can not all be perfect and I have been around far too long to fall in the "Mug" category.
Hey... Merry chrimbo and a great new year guys
Mart.

The only person I have referred to as "a mug" is the person who unknowingly purchased these dampers as part of the new acquisition of a car, or after having his dampers replaced as a distress purchase by his 'trusted' garage.
I have made no comment on anyone who has knowingly purchased these dampers........
Merry Christmas!
