I may be looking at a E34 525 manual at the weekend, its been stored 6 or 7 years and has covered around 110k.
Whats the engine worth as a conversion for an E30 assuming its all good?
Not 100% sure that its something I want to do so I want to make a fair and reasonable offer but still be in pocket should I not want to do the conversion and simply sell the engine on.
Cheers.

Engine's not worth a massive amount these days, since M50 conversions have largely been superseded by the M52.
Sump, etc. and the inlet manifold is where the (considerable) money is.
You may get some interest in the block as a more durable replacement for a M52 block.

My current Touring has an ex E34 525i engine, has always been good, I guess its because it's probably had an easier life in an E34 than maybe it would have done in an E30. The E34 had 154,000 miles and the E34 cost £260 IIRC, was about 7 years ago now.

As above, Its either an M50nv or an M20 so really depends what it is.

Cheers guys.
I missed out on a very cheap M20 blessed E34, my neighbour scrapped his earlier this year. I'd have been gutted if it were an M50.
Still not sure that I want to do this to the cabby.
