2 door shell changes

Can anyone tell me the changes in shells and when they changed . Reason I ask is I need a front valance for my C reg 325i and the valance I got is different to my own one also my car has body colour metal bumpers and a breaking car I viewed had plastic . Cheers

82 to sept 85 the the front valance changed along with a few other details such as trim but still retained the metal bumpers and is also when the 325i replaced the 323i.
The from sept 85 to sept 87 which is when the plastic bumper "facelift" saloons came out.
cabrios kept the pre facelift up till Oct 90.
