touring rear arch/quarter panel

I've got a touring to scrap in the next few weeks but the rear arches are minty mint.
I'd like to cut them out so I've got decent arches for when mine finally need replacing.

What's the best plan of attack - remove as much of the rear quarter as possible, or just cut around the arch?
