Welcome along Gerald. As with most cars, E30's prices largely vary due to a cars condition, miles, service history, specification and rarity. With so many made in so many different guises the result now is that (despite many e30s now having bit the dust) there are still a wide variety of models out there in varying conditions, miles, and specifications meaning you really have to take each car on its own merits and pay what you think the car is worth.

Agree with all the above from RustyRuss,but also factor in the very good parts availability from BMW.This means that cars can cling onto an MoT for far longer than others can.
So we currently have at least two levels of E30;
Living corpse's
Very good,low miles,low owner cars.
Owner's of the latter catogory rightly expect their cars to sell for eyebrow-raising amounts,this tends to make owner's of the first group think that their rusty cars have similar exotic values.

airchamber dwellers. the financial black hole of the "hasbeen athlete with toupe"
my last 325 presented itself as a sporty type with a full head of hair and a cadish attractio to ladies. i paid a little too much despite the warning sign that he was chain smoking. turned out he was a tired old fart with a bad heart and loads of false tan pushed into the wrinkles , if it seems cheap and just a little better than a "living corpse". It wont be. buy cheap and restore or borrow and buy the best. i spent a safari holiday to kenya with a business class seat on Virgin getting my last 325 to be half as good as the car i supposedly bought on a dark night in the rain with my "mechanic "mate.

'Old colonel cars' usually have a few mouth-watering E30s on there. Fairly priced too.Mitchen wrote:Nice car!e30Passion wrote:Saw this the other day.. nice example!
