As its listed as a sport, and had a VIC in 2009, I suspect a reshell....

would most likey it be a cat c write off at some stage and would that mean a decrease in its value

Worth 20-25% less as a result of its unfortunate past.
Personally, unless it has a full engineers report, I wouldn't ever buy a car with a cat c or d in its history; just a personal preference I guss, but you are unlikely to get detailed info about the accident damage, and who/where it was repaired etc...
