What are the top things to replace/restore if old and dead to improve the driveability (if that's a word) of an old E30.
Obviously up there would be the fuel injectors getting refurbed.
What else has everyone experienced that makes all the difference?

Just the steering in general. Throw the old bus-like rack in the bin and fit an E46 rack. That combined with a suspension overhaul will make the car drive like new, but with better steering.BenHar wrote:Good call!Speedtouch wrote:Steering guibo.

steering upgrade doesn't feel original though, that's a downside for me.Motorhole wrote:Just the steering in general. Throw the old bus-like rack in the bin and fit an E46 rack. New tyres may well make a decent difference, if the car's on knackered old Linglong ditchfinders...

Have you ever driven a car with a faster rack?Captain_Birdseye wrote:steering upgrade doesn't feel original though, that's a downside for me.Motorhole wrote:Just the steering in general. A Regular Service:
*Spark Plugs
*Fuel Filter
*Engine oil
*Oil Filter
*Air Filter
You can also check and change if necessary:
*Wishbones/bushes
*suspension springs and shocks including top mounts
*Track rod ends
*Power steering fluid
*Break fluid
*disks and pads
*All new tyres filled to correct limit 32psi for 205/50 R15
Doing all this should help and hopefully restore OEM driving quality and pleasure or as close to.
What are your plans for this car ?

I have to say the only thing you notice with a quicker rack than the e30 one is your much less scared when the back steps out and you spend less time doing bus driver impressions.
Other than that the car is exactly the same day to day.
