Hi, just bought my first e30 325i sport mtechII. Was just wondering what the best suspension there was to use because i think at the minute its sitting on 60mm lowered springs and for my roads its not great on the front. The back is fine. Even though it looks unreal its just not driveable.
Is anyone using coilovers or has any ideas about suspension? still want that lowered look but comfortable.
Thanks,
Thomas

The usual advice is Bilstein shocks with either h&r or Eibach springs, no more than -40mm drop if you want the car to handle as it should (a -40mm drop will be 25mm lower than the standard Mtech suspension you Sport should have). -30mm is good trade off between looks and comfort (15mm lower than the standard Mtech stuff).
Coilovers are all well and good if you spend on proper coilovers (£800-£1k minimum), but the cheap coilovers are just that and best avoided.

I'm on Bilstein B4 with Eibach pro kit and find it spot on in terms of handling and not deviating too far from OEM look

Its a compromise which ever way you go, you cant have the 60mm lowered look and have as much comfort as standard suspension.thomas_beck1 wrote:

Thanks,

I have recently fitted a F 60mm R 40mm H R Cup Kit to my Tech 1 and of course it has compromised the ride quality, but is so much more stable at speed and corners flat which is what I want.

Dunno About your Suspension Until i see a Photo or maybe Drive the Car.
But I have an Original M-Tech 2 E30 , Which has a different Front Suspension .
The Suspension Stock For the M-technic 2 Models , are Belstien 195 with eibach Springs
, Dunno if it has a different Name or Code ,
but you can find the 195 Code on the left shock absorber base .
After Using Koni Gas pressure ones , they were perfect for track use TBH , but for Daily Use , no way
too stiff , and Really Hard on chassis .
That's My M-tech 2 E30 with it's Stock M-tech suspension .( Front Ones )
On the Rear Ones i am Using Koni Adjustable Rebound Gas Absorbers with H&R Springs ,
Soon I'll install The Adjustable Ride Height Springs By TA Technix . No Retro Fitting ,
Same As Original Springs but with a Ride Height Spanner Adapter .

You Can See it Ain't That Low , But Still The Front Bumper Is Ripped & The Exhaust Silencer Hits Most Ramps and Bumps

Google, bilstein b12 is a bit over £600, don't pay too much more than that
