Looking to get the rear inner arch rust hole that's appeared sorted out soon and can't seem to find inner arches anywhere so hopefully my welder friend can size up metal if its not too much a grind back for clean metal.
My question here though is that the outer arch has some bubbles on it also so was going to buy this arch off eBay
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 79&alt=web
Has anyone used this seller before and can comment on the quality? Or suggest another place to buy them from?

That looks like the standard after-market repair panel, price is about right too!
Be aware that the rear arch profile changed with bumper type, that one is for later, plastic bumper cars.
In the past,we have had a zoner fit one early panel and one late panel to the same car.....
Inner arches,if available, will be dealer only.

Youth is wasted on the young.
depends how far the inner arch has rusted but you can use the profile, the arch lip, on that outer arch repair panel above to repair the inner arch if the rust isnt to extensive. as above inners are available about £250 each IIRC

Outer arches are pattern only unless you buy a whole quarter panel!
Inner arches come in two parts and are listed as "wheelhouse" in bmw parts jargon
I bought a wheelhouse panel that joins the outer arch to inner for around £100 from BM mini parts.
Hope that helps someone!

Just tried the BM mini parts site myself and can't find it on there either.
Then I found the sales invoice when I bought mine...
Part no is ;41 14 1972592
Use the " price finder" section as its a special order part.
I ordered this in February this year and it was £83.08 delivered, while dealer wanted £120 and collection
Only.
And it is gen parts, had bmw stamped all over it.

Cheers for the part number, but i think it might be wrong..?
I emailed them, and they sent me back the following link..
for the rear outer
http://www.bmminiparts.com/PriceFinderQ ... 80374EBD1A
did you buy both the inner and the outer at the same time Mrslideout?
just thinking the part numbers might be mixed up somewhere

I bought the last NS inner arch last week and ordered a OS inner arch, but Cotsworld rung and said that the OS one was labelled wrong and was actually a NS. So technically there is still 1 more NS inner left in the uk (if someone has not bought it since).
The OS is on a long back list from Germany, not expected for delivery mid october!

No I only bought the "outer wheelhouse"
As the inner is where the shock top mount attaches and I didn't need that part.
Part no is on the box I could check to see if it is different. Haven't got round to welding it on yet. Keeping finding other holes in the front end to weld up!
That aside the info in the link is fine and they do add delivery on that price too hence why mine was £80 odd....

Yep I think you could be right,
I've just had a reply from them with a different link,
to what I think must be the inner.... inner,
where the shock top mount goes
http://www.bmminiparts.com/PriceFinderQ ... 80374EBD1A
if you could,
can you check the number on your box just to double check mate.
and if possible, can you throw a picture up of the actual inner part were talking about,
just so i know were on the same page

I have read on other forums in the past where many have gone down the route of using thicker grade sheet metal and welded it on the underside for the inner wheel arches.
I understand this could be a cheaper option as long as it is done correctly and protected.
has anybody else gone down this route here on the zone?

Have checked my part and the number is the same!
BMW Part no; 41 14 1 972 592 outer wheelhouse
(This joins the two arch skins together, includes the hole for the fuel filler hose and joins together in the middle where the inner wheelhouse would start)
Basically look in your wheelarch and the whole tub in to halfway in depth is what you get.
Still haven't got round to sorting out how to upload pics but the numbers match and the description is accurate coz I'm stood next to it!

Niiiiice pics!
Tech 2 pods hide a lot of grot
Other pic looks really bad too!
Sold my last e30 with gaping rust holes like that, (newborn baby no sleep and welding really wasn't going to mix)
It's taken the owner (or should that be hero) four years but its MOTed and taxed now!
Now back to the current turd ......
