First off mods - this is in a rough way e30 related feel free to move to pub if you think it's not in the appropriate section

The story so far - I, before new year ordered various parts from BMW and a part from ECP. BMW said that it would be thursday before they would recieve anything as they had to be ordered (specially for me as always!!!) anyway on wednesday I recieved a call to say that BMW had my parts then ECP rang and said the same. Now the item in question is a drive shaft centre mounting now I supplied ECP with engine, serial number, year, capacity everything they might need to get the correct part BUT when I went to collect it it was missing the bearing in the middle and looked nothing like what I took off, I told them and they ordered another and a separate bearing, but still the same part arrived I was to say the least not amused. This has set me back a few days now and I'm not happy about it because they have piddled about before with parts, I ordered a downpipe and asked for the fitting kit, I got a back box mounting kit? WTF!!! anyway thats my rant flaming idiots

Does anyone else find that they are similarly incapable?

Never dealt with ECP, but they've only just gone and opened up a store literally a few buildings down from GSF down here. I find the GSF service is awesome (depends if I can be arsed to wait to get the part from the dealers ), can't say I'll ever find the need of going to ECP unless a last resort.

I wish I had the choice, there's only BMW round here who have parts now apart from ECP :(

Order the parts from GSF on their website. The delivery is pretty good and everything Ive ordered so far has been the correct part which is good considering I ordered some of the less common seals and gaskets etc.

I order most of the parts I need from www.motormec.co.uk their service is excellent. There isnt a GSF or ECP near me so I have to restort to mail order.

i bought exactly the same part from ecp 2 weeks ago, a prop centre bearing, came complete and exactly right next day delivery. no problems with ecp up here. i find them quite helpful, you must have a muppet in your local shop winkeye

Always found ECP to be ok but not as good as the parts guys at the local bmw dealer. Biggest gripe i have with ecp is that their website is not confidence inspiring when it comes to making sure you have ordered the right parts for your specific model - their model dates / descriptions are a bit vague.

@ Bob s are you on about the ECP in Birmingham? Because ive had exactly the same SH1t off them myself at times. I think they just put a muppet on the parts desk when the bloke that knows what he's on about goes for lunch

Its the same round here with GSF, theyre litterally across the road :o
Its good for bargaining with cause you can play them off against each other i.e. - Ԛ£29.65 8O Well GSF said i can have it for Ԛ£27.34.
"oh right, erm.... Ԛ£25.95 then"
