I had the rear bearings done on the M3 a few weeks back, took all day and my mate charged me £200 and I got OEM bearings from BMW.
Nasty job by the looks of it.

With the correct tools it can be done in an hour and a half a side.

I needed to swap a rear wheel bearing a few months ago.
I was able to remove the driveshaft and trailing arm with out too much swearing, then I gave in and took the arm to the local garage to have the old bearing pressed out and the new one pressed in.

Once again, for those who are home DIY'ers:
By all means take the arm off the car yourself. It's not all that hard. But please please please take the arm to a garage and get them to remove and replace the bearing. If you want to learn then I'm sure you can stand around and watch if you're not in the way.
Most garages will swap the bearings for a bit of beer money.

If I bought new rear arms then had the new bearings pushed in then I could just replace old for new ?????
