I was thinking of getting a G reg e30 318i touring, can this be insured as a classic. My brother has a e30 on an f reg and he only pays £140 a year but is limited to 5000 miles a year.
If the G reg can be Insured as a classic then can anyone recomend a insurance company that allows up to 10,000 a year.

You can insure it as a classic but they normally require you to be over 25 and have another car.

I normally get decent quotes from Adrian Flux.

Best of Luck.

Nice one thanks, im insured on my bros car as second driver, do you think that would be ok?
If not have they asked you for proof of insurance on another car.

In my experience you need to have a car registered in your name but best checking with the insurance company.

I think it might be tricky insuring it under classic and have 10'000 miles. I always thought they limited it 3000 so am impressed that your brother got 5000.

There is no issue with being a named driver on a another car and not owning another car as long as that is your primary mode of transport.

I used to share a car with the Mrs which on paper she owned and insured (although I foot the bill) and had the E30 on a classic policy no problem.

That was with Lancaster and another I can't remember.

The point of classic Insurance is as a second car limited mileage and you don't use it much Hence it's cheap.

I have a scooter as my main vehicle for work and the e30 on classic. £200 per year to insure both.

I actually found fully comprehensive cheaper than classic. And classic was really cheap.

Are you sure its a classic policy ? I think classic policy's are limited to 5k miles , £350 for a 318 10k miles sounds like a cheap normal policy, only or 2nd car ?
