Paint looks rather orange-peeley on the first three.

What a shame they bolted the tech 1 kit to the C2 Alpina. Just looks like a chavved up convertible now.
Agreed re the paint and the hoods look nasty.

They used Dan Norris's car to make the replica!B7 wrote:What a shame they bolted the tech 1 kit to the C2 Alpina. Just looks like a chavved up convertible now.

It's actually a very nice car.
So Robs cabrio looks chavved up as well?

Look at the wheels. They look like BK's. Add that to the interior which looks shite and the model looks like a chavved up piece of shite in my eyes. The original car may be a very nice car. But that model does nothing for the e30.bss325i wrote:They used Dan Norris's car to make the replica!B7 wrote:What a shame they bolted the tech 1 kit to the C2 Alpina. I will own up mind, I don't like tech one kits on convertible. Makes them look fat. And BMW only ever offered it as an option even on the early motorsports. I presume that's because it's an acquired taste.

...I much prefer Gama models which were available from the dealers in the 80s and 90s. Even if the lights are a bit odd on some of them, the shape is captured well and they're nice and heavy.

Corgi models have always been a bit clunky, okay if you want some 70s or 80s kitsch like a New Avengers TR7. If you want a decent 1:43 E30 buy West German

The best detailed ones are/were made by Autoart or Minichamps.

There's a Gama touring on the shelf behind me, and it looks a lot better than this one!Rodderz wrote:That is fukcing awful!rh306 wrote:...I much prefer Gama models which were available from the dealers in the 80s and 90s. I agree, the E30 corgi models are poor representations of the actual carB7 wrote:Look at the wheels. They look like BK's. The pics in those links are just that, pictures but not of the actual model, just a computer rendering of what's to be released.
