Started to tighten my exhaust manifold.
Which ment removing the HT leads etc and I swear I put them back right .
Now it won't start?
Sounds like it has a killswitch somewhere but never before.
What could it be?

Am I ment to put a lead on first?
I unplugged the 2 things below the HT leads that plug into the coil pack I'm sure I put them back how they came off .
Would that cause it not to run?

Tomorrow I'll just unplug the alarm then all sorted.

Which engine do you have? I would imagine that the coil pack is polarised, so quite important to fit the LT leads the correct way round.

M42. I fitted the leads correctly as they were numbered.
All ran before just needed the manifold doing up.

If you don't fit the ht leads the right way round , what will happen ?

It will usually run, but roughly, as if it's out of balance.

But this has a coil pack not a distributor.
So should run fine shouldn't it.

Yes, but unless the firing order is correct, it won't run properly.
Try removing an HT lead, fit a spare spark plug into it and rest the plug on a metal (earthed) part of the engine, then crank it over and check if it sparks.

Yes they all spark that's where I'm stumped and all getting fuel.
But doesn't wanna run even Though it has original ht leads with the numbers printed on them.

In that case, perhaps you've flooded it? May be worth leaving it for a few hours, perhaps with the spark plugs removed.
Alternatively, crank the engine over while spraying carb or brake cleaner down the throttle body.

Studs aren't held in by Loctite, they're held in by threads - things which I think you'll find are missing in your head behind this particular stud.

You'll probably need more than plain Loctite - try thread lock.

How deep are the threads in the head from the exhaust ?
Are the exhaust ment to have a spacer sort of thing?( a silver plate thing) not the gasket , it's thicker than that

What about if the threads are stripped what should I do?
Bit awarded to helicoil it as it's on a freshly fitted head I believe.

You could try using a tap & die set to re-cut the thread, or you may have to drill it out and re-tap it to the next size up.

Sounds like it could be a duff crank position sensor, or the fuse to the ECU/fuel pump has blown.

But wouldn't a diff crank sensor not allot it to spark aswell as the engine not knowing its position

You haven't said whether you have sparks or not.
