The quality of this cap (only used on RH drive versions) falls well below BMW's normal standards at the time. It's a fairly common size and thread and a far higher quality replacement can be found on other makes of cars if you keep your eyes open in scrapyards.
Several of my E30s have reservoir caps from 'A' series engined BL Metros which are top quality and a perfect fit, but these are somewhat rare in yards now.
