Today I went to the BMW approved bodyshop near me to show the manager how (lightly) cracked and bubbly the tech 2 spoiler they painted for me few months ago has become. I was told its a fiber glass replica and is to be expected of such material, I told him its genuine, showed him the bmw stamp on it .... Anyhow he offers to repaint it for free and I wonder now if its an original spoiler as it is indeed fiber glass.
Anyone had similar issue with those spoilers? Are they fiber glass?
Cheers,
JF

Replica ones are fibre glass and genuine ones plastic.
Is yours in two parts with a BMW part number?

2 parts and bmw markings, the top part has the bmw roundel stamped with two clocks indicating date of production? Not sure about the bottom but when you knock on the parts they sound hollow.

That guy was quite convincing saying its not genuine, the problem is the did not rub it down then as it was a home made job from the previous owner
