How much would this be worth?

1986 325i 4door Auto in red (needs a good polish)

Slight rust bubble on either side of rear wings but still solid other then that no rust.

30k on the clock with full service history including original sale receipt and cambelt done also comes with a new battery. Mostly serviced by BMW dealer

Completely standard with cream leather interior/door cards etc

Still has a full toolbox/the cassette player/original handbook etc

I will post more about the car when I know the VIN

Only used as a weekend car

The seller is asking for £2000

Here's some photos

These are rarer than hen's teeth.
Like three door saloons, they were only made late on Friday afternoons after the Quality Inspectors had buggered off to drink beer.
They have three doors on the passenger side, and two on the driver's side.
There was a rumour that just one escaped with three doors on the driver's side... :D

You don't need MOTs to judge the mileage.

I haven't viewed the car yet which is why I wanted a rough idea but from the looks of it you can't get a serious answer. I've heard people call 4 doors 5 because they count the boot. But I will call them 4 door for your benefit.

I'm on the Isle of Man. We do not need MOT's it's just services every 5k.

Most 4/5/6 (is the bonnet a door?) E30s are valued by the KG on what is called a weighbridge.

If this really is a genuine nice car, it is obviously worth more but as you have NOT told us anything about it , except its unfortunate surplus of doors, its kind of hard to value it.

Pics ? Spec ? Condition ? Owners ? Theses are all very important factors that we need to know.

Obviously you could tell us how much the owner wants as a small clue :)

I used to live in the isle of man ,my kids where born their. Lots of nice cars bikes tucked away in garages , i bet their is a few gems to be found. As regards your car i dare bet the mileage is true , but check for rust as being a island sea air.I would say a mint low miles 4 door is worth about 5k maybe more how e30 prices are going.

Yes 5k with the description youve given us, does it have any hens teeth in it and any tartan paint?
OP dont trust anyone who can value a car without seeing it and having a look at it! :D
You can trust the KG approach to value though, think its about £90 a tonne at minute

As others have said, it could be anywhere between 500 and 5000.

This page will give you a meaningless final price:

http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... s_it_worth

BUT it does show you the sort of things that influence the pricing of an E30. The fewer morsels it has, the less it's worth, but rust and bad paint is the real price-dropper. If there's a single blister of rust on the roof, walk away.

Honestly,asking the value of a near 30 year old car,without a full description and detailed,clear photo's is pretty much like asking;

'How much paper and string do I need to wrap a parcel up?'

Without telling us anything about the parcel!

We get asked these questions regarding value on a regular basis,so without proper information, you will just get the above daft answers.

And even failing the door count....well....really!

Them rear arches are f000ked. Take a grinder to them and see what happens ! :( That lovely 'Tigar' tyre looks rather cracked as well as horrible.

2k for a 30k 325 ostensibly sounds like a deal BUT being a four door with rust issues and undoubtedly plenty of other expensive niggles, it may not be.

So even if they're solid and I had given them a good pull they're still fucked?

The thing is, they are NOT solid and I am fairly sure they have had some 'attention' previously .

If the outer arch lip looks like that, there is a good chance that the inner arches are in trouble as well.....

The paint is peeling off because the rust is forcing it to ! The arch lip should have no 'lumps' The lumps are the spot welds erupting because rust has got between both the inner and outer arch panel which are spot welded together. A grinder will make a right mess of that in very short order :( Somebody clever could tonce it up to look good, for a while but to repair it properly will be involved and expensive as you will end up painting both sides of the car unless you want it to look like a chessboard :(

As I have no interest in driving around in a E30 four door, I would only buy it if I thought I could make a decent profit on it . The 30k 1 owner provenance is VERY good news. The fact that it pertains to a scabby four door , less so.

There is a profit BUT there is one major flaw - location. On Iom with relevant registration it's worth 2 grand. With UK plates, everything done and the car mint, it's 4-5 grand. 4 doors and auto is what the more mature buyer wants so the four door/scrap thing isn't entirely justified.
