I have just been cleaning off a load of the bits in the engine bay and on the underside, now all of them are in quite good condition but I'm expecting it to be more down to the oily mud (typical m20 oil sieve) stuck all over them for years acting like waxoil.
The stuff was literally water repellent.
Now that I have cleaned all this gunk off and degreased them I'm a bit worried I have now taken all the protection from the elements they had away.
I know BMW used some kind of wax (the now yellow stuff) all over the engine bay, is something like this available?
Any recommendations?
