I jist spent some time earlier with a wire brish cleaning my discs and was wondering what would be the handiest to stop them corroding again?

I would like to zinc plate them but i cant do it myself and I cant afford to get it done, not sure who does it either. Would it be possible to paint them up with hightemp paint or would thos mess with the performance of the brakes?

WD40 them and put them away.
When you need them , use brake cleaner to clean them.

Not a good idea: WD40 displaces water for 40 days then it attracts water!

You will be able to paint the centres ok with high temp paint or spray or probably hammerite.

As for the disc faces i have seen stuff that you can paint on to stop corrosion.

I am not sure what it is called but if you go to a machine shop who has lathes and milling machines and ask them they will probably tell you. It paints on like paint but dries clear and is a waterproof coating. They use it to protect parts whilst they are kept on the shelf. Obviously clean it all off with thinners or something when you take the car out in the summer etc.

My vacuum jar isnt big enough to hold them! Ill be there sunday alright.

I might paint some and wd40 the rest or see can i find a machine shop and find oit what they use.

Them stone discs wont be much good to me since the holes on the floor were patched up!
