is there much work involved, has anyone done this before, if so any pictures of it...

It involves massively butchering both the car and the kit to the point where you wreck both unless you're a master craftsman. Completely not worth it.

Zaust has a tech 1 kit on a touring but as above I don't think it's easy.
Zausts touring does look good though. Ide love a tech 1 touring, I have a touring and a tech one kit.

Zaust and Dips are the only Tech 1 tourings I've ever heard of - so two cars in the six years I've been on the Zone. That should give some indication on how hard it is to pull off.

There was another owned and created by Nelly aka Neil which when I saw it inspired me to make mine. As I had just ripped the rear beam out of my tech one on a spirited drive and had a touring sitting in my front yard how could I resist.
It's not to hard at the front all nuts and bolts, the back you will need an angle grinder and a little creative thinking but it works.

Dips does not have a tech 1 kitted touring.
He has a 3dr touring based on a pre facelift shell which had a BBS body kit.

To be honest I did not do a thread as I kind of looked at it and then just gone with it and had it done in a day.
For the front you will need the early lower valance, metal bumper and bumper iorns. All bolt on. You will need early indicator wire and plugs very easy swap. For the rear you will need to cut the valance off as it sticks out to far and sits lower then the tech 1 does. Mounting the rear bumper can be done in 2 ways. Either use the existing brackets on the metal bumper and make new mounting holes or chop the mounts off of the later bumper and weld them to the early bumper. You will need cab rear bumper end rubbers as they will take up the gap.
For the side mounts on the rear you will have get a bit creative but not hard as you will have enough bit there to do so.
Hope that helps.
If not come and visit and tak a look round mine.
