I have a Baur and I`ve recently cleaned up the paintwork and it looks really good, a very deep shine (worts and bruises as well) and need to know what is the best to clean the top and bring it back to what it used to be.
It is still in very good shape with no holes etc so is worth putting some time in to it, also can you water proof it as well?

Diamond swartz, black top.

Cheers Mart.
Only the E46 cab left now.
Just got too old.

Never worked on an 'ugly duckling',but the canvas cabbie hood responds well to Renovo products to re-colour and waterproof.

I have a feeling that the rear section of your Baur hood is vynal?
My old MG Midget's hood liked black boot polish once a year, gave a nice shine and repeled the water.

The Baur-hood is canvas.

Yup, renovo stuff is best. Amazon are doing discounts on it at the moment. Not the cheapest option, but the best.

I'll second this. Used it on my dark blue hood the past two years and it cleans up a treat and keeps the water out.

Back behind an M20, but now I can hear it better.
