Hello all
A quick question.
I know a lot of you have considered doing your carpets mainly to black. So I the end I went to valeters pride and got the black dye.
Did it (applied with a gloss paint roller - 3coats).
The colour was good but it made the carpet go quite hard like those floor mats. Has anyone else had this experience.

I'm not that happy with it just because I feels horrible now.

I'm considering getting someone to fit an aftermarket carpet in (he's an expert with such things)

Does anyone have any opinions

Thanks

Hi Jatin,

Read Jim's thread (pages 16/17) Jim has done some extensive, and superb work on his car, and details what he used and how for the carpets.

I hope yours aren't too bad..

Never heard of anyone trying to fit aftermarket Carpet (I think because they are moulded to shape), I would like to know how it comes out if you decide to get it done.

The op used same dye as jim by the look of it

Although applying with a paint roller doesn't sound ideal, maybe you applied it too thick and its dried like that ?

Possibly on a little (like under seat) section, giving it a go over with some valet carpet foam cleaner and see if it them dries softly ?
