I'm using silent coat on mine, went for the 2mm stuff which seams very light but i'll be covering it over wit hanother sound deadening product before the carpet goes in.

The silent coat only covers partial area's (25-50% of a panel) and is to stop panels from resonating. Then the other product goes on over a layer of foam and these are to stop the sound passing through. To do it properly you really need a heavier version of silent coat, thicker foam and thicker sound proofing, but it all adds a lot of weight!

There's a lot more to it than that, lots of info on here: http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/index.php/index.html
