Hi All,
Can anyone give me instructions on how to insert the heating mat into the seats, please.
Alternatively, post a link to the wiki (can't see anything there) or another site that might be able to help?
TIA!

I popped my seat in to a local trimmers mate, they did a great job and it cost me £25 iirc. I did look into it but was told it's quite a fiddly job and I'm cr*p at fiddly stuff.

Thanks Jim. I'm in Wales....... Don't think I'll find a trimmer around here. Plenty of sheep fiddling though

The seats come apart really easy just time consuming.
I don't know where the elements are fitted though whether it's under the fabric above the foam or behind it

Is there a guide on taking the seats apart, Jonny?

As pony discovered, you can't turn deep heat off like you can with heated seats, which explains why Pony's butt resembles a baboon's in season. (Pacers got the pics)
You can tell us, where does the heating element go; under or over the cushion and between the leatherz ?

I tried fitting Retrofit heated seat elements some time back. Gaining access was quite easy once you take apart the back pole that the leather wraps around underneath. My problem was that getting between the leather and the foam would have resulted in ruining the attachments between the upper leather and the foam underneath. There is a lovely space between the upper and lower foam layers that the element just slides into.
I know that this will slow the heat getting your backside but I my opinion it's not worth ruining the end finish of the leather to get the elements right under the leather.
Does anyone have any opinions

Did you take any pics? The heat is never instant so as long as they warm up, then the placement you mentioned seems very sensible. Thanks

Do you have a pic of the "slot" where you inserted the heating mat? Well done with posting a pic, it's a pain using photobucket or similar software to load them.

If I remember correctly, with photobucket, once you have uploaded the image if you click on it you get a cog icon which then allows you to select - view all links(?)
The link you want to copy and past is the Img one. As soon as you click on ot, photobucket will tell it is copied. You the right click and paste into your post.
It will display this as a normal link, ie the standard written pathway, but if you preview your post you will see the image.
Try that.
