I have had three sports ratio gear boxes bought over the last two years and on each occasion I've been promised that each one is not noisy (whines) and holds gears. 1st one jumped out of 1st gear. second whined like a biach. 3rd one is just noisy. i was told today by three independent gearbox repairers that these getrag boxes are a nightmare to get parts for and that i should source a good second hand one !!!!
so my trusted friends does any one have for sale a sports ratio box .... with none of the above problems please. or does any one know of someone who can repair/restore one of my spare gboxes. must be a gen sport box with the number proving so on line .thanks
(none were purchased from the zone)

Getrags tend to rattle, it's just what they do. Even my good one with 71k on it rattles in neutral.

i see your logic here. but can you imagine the room for error with parting out used parts and trying to mate them with used parts!! seems like i would be opening a can of worms at a cost. i know that any box i get will be used parts but i just want used parts that work properly together :P

worth trying some redline gearbox oil into it before you go buying another box, it works very well for alot of people with a noisy gearbox.
