New key, did I get a bargain?
Moderator: martauto
I ordered a new key with a light from the dealer a week or so ago. They quoted me £31 (ish).
Went to collect it this morning and they only charged £15. So did I get a bargain or was the quote they gave me wrong?

It will have been unless ordered to chassis number with proof of ownership.
The part number on my invoice is: B51.21.1.151.006 and is described as: 091657/Key, £15.12 inc. vat.
Looks like this:

The girl who served me at Coopers Sevenoaks said it was the cheapest key she has ever sold, but they are a Mini dealer so she probably usually just sells expensive keys to mini owners.

That's because your passat key will have electronics in the back section - that will need to be programmed. The bmw key is very basic.Jamie8GTi wrote:£15 for a cut key is mad!!! volkswagen quoted me £200 before on my passat!
