Has anyone bought a centre and rear section exhaust for an M20 engined E30 recently, please?
If so,where from and how much?

My last two came from GSF,but they do not seem to list them anymore... :(

Sorry,I should have made it clear that it's the three piece system that seems to have vanished!

Do you need the exhaust? If you need both center and rear why not change to two piece system

Because the manifold for the 2 piece and 3 piece is different

You cant change from a 2 piece to a 3 piece or vice versa without changing the manifold as well which can be a royal pain in the arse.

Look for a good used genuine one malc - alternatively consider a stainless system - there are a growing number of custom stainless builders who should be able to knock up a 2-box mainfold back system for £200 - £300 with a lifetime warranty

Remember that this turd has an M50 winkeye
It's currently at a place in Peterbough having a stainless system made up,X pipe just aft of the steering rack, then a twinpipe system in the same size tube via two boxes.
I'm just trying to justify the cost against the current price of a mild steel system!

Certainly no place in this area at your estimate,Rob

You said M20 in the OP ?? I thought the touring had had its chips and was on its way out ? Decided to keep it then ? 8)

I've had 2 quotes for a cat-back stainless system for my Alfa recently one at £220 and the other at £295 - just waiting til next payday before I decide which one to go with.
I bet a new genuine system is £500 upwards

I would be wary of a 200-300 stainless system! Obviously if its single pipe its half the work which could explain the price.
Dont fortget to post the pics Malc 8)

Yep single Pipe for the Alfa Dan - never crossed my mind a twin pipe system would be more what a dumbass

Used a stock system from the manifold back when I built the turd,my feeling is that from the stealer I'd be looking at £500+ and the aftermarket sources only seem to offer the two part systems.

Too much else going on ATM to consider a different daily, and this s/s system will transfer to the cabbie,anyway,probably...and the original had failed where the pipe enters the front box. Most likely due to years of bodgery at each MoT to seal the downpipe/front box join.So the bullet has been bitten and my trousers are about to be lowered....

thread bump

what happened in the end ?

im trying to sort my exhaust out, i was not aware 2 and 3 piece system manifolds were different ? how do they differ ? i thought it was a pre/facelift difference ? and some pre facelift had 3 stud downpipe

i have a 3 piece system, original pre facelift manifold is cracked , 4 stud downpipe

which is slightly different fitting to the facelift 4 stud downpipe

i have a nice facelift manifold here, are facelift 2/3 piece system manifolds different ?

a local motor factors can supply a downpipe and center section for £210 , which he assured would be decent and a great fit/quality , as opposed to another cheaper option i forget the brand

to then use with the faacelift manifold and my scorpion back box ?

any other options anyone can suggest ?
