Hi People... Sorry to be rude. I noticed a guy on here had introduced himself, which is one thing i haven't yet done.

My name is chris, i'm 25 and i'm from Gloucester. I recently bought a 1989 325i in larchs silver, and it is an amazing car. I can see why you guys and girls love them so much, A propper cult car. I have my own business called Top Tints, which is a car / building glass tinting business, so if anyone has any questions about glass tinting or glass removal, i can help.

Thanks for all your help so far as i have submitted a few questions myself and got some great help.

Look forward to speaking to you all soon.

Cheers

cheers guys.

In response to your question, the car has been chipped, K&N filter and a few simple mods like strutt brace etc. Put me a nice alpine stereo install too. Clip off steering wheel, alpina reps. It is an M-Tech 2 Beemer with all the standard kit, but no limited slip diff :(

Looks the business though as they all do. LOVE IT !

one thing i do notice is that it has grey leather with red piping and it is the original trim... never seen it before on any other one... anyone else seen this colour trim ?

No probs ben. Light tints is the best way to go. Looks classy and very rare to get any hassle from the old bill.

Your ride sounds very nice indeed. Reference to the interior. I cant say i have heard of grey with red pipeing as standard. Got any pics of your car?

Also, what sort of prices do you charge for a light tint all round. You got any examples of your work?

Cheers.

still in the process of cleaning it up and sorting out my rusty o/s/r inner arch... as soon as i have her all cleaned up i'll try post some pictures, also of the interior. As for examples of my work, you will see the tints on my own car, and about 2500 other cars in gloucester, cheltenham, oxford and surrounding areas. As for the price to tint a 3 series... well, for one of my fellow zoners i would tint a 3dr, removing all the glass for Ԛ£150. Would normally be Ԛ£220.

any1 have any opinions on how it would look with tints or should i leave it standard? and how do i post pictures in this post?

Definately would not reccomend that. As the window bends in every direction, the window film would just turn into a big creasy mess. I get a lot of phone calls asking the same question. My answer to this is to take your car to a good coach-trimmer and they will remove the rear stitching rtc that holds the rear vinyl type screen and they are able to sew in a tinted one. Not a cheap option though, will normally set you back around the Ԛ£300 + mark but it depends how fussy you are with your motor. If you want to concider this i can put you onto a guy i recommend.

If it's none genuine, then yours might not be zipped but the real bmw hoods are!

Zipped in hey ? ? ? that's interesting :? Never really looked at the back windows in that much detail as i've never owned one. Still shouldn't be a problem for a good coach trimmer i wouldn't have thought. As for the price for a tourer to be tinted... Slightly more complex to do than a 3dr coupe, so to one of the zoners would be about Ԛ£180, normally would be Ԛ£260

the chip itslef is about 5mm wide and abt 3mm deep, just one of those things that bug......

very unsual to be able to chip toughened glass without it blowing into 1000000s of pieces. i would advise to get another glass as that one has probably weakened a fair bit now. the glass is relatively easy to fit. there is a load of metal brackets and runners etc on the bottom of the glass, but if you buy a 2nd hand one, these bits will probably still be on there.
