Speedo sensors facelift / pre facelift

Hi Guys, I'm putting a facelift med case lsd diff in a preface shell and i noticed the speedo sensors a 3 pin for the cromie and a two pin sender on the diff, Do i have to get hold of a prefacelift speedo sender as i stupidly left mine in the old diff when i weighed it in or is there something else i can do ? I have facelift clocks that i could use ?

Any E30 sender, (with matching plug) will drive any cluster.

Pre face lift signal wires are brown/purple (earth) and brown/red (signal).
I wasn't aware that there was a third wire on pre facelift stuff. It's certainly not shown on the wiring diagrams. I can only think that a screened cable was used, and the third wire is an earth connection for the screen.

Cheers Brian, That explains the 3rd wire. Thanks for the Colour codes it'll save a trial & error approach.
