Burnt out clocks....but worked ok

I opened a set of clocks up today, up to check them out and found this



the odd thing is, this looks to be on the circuit to the indicator flashing bulb

also interesting that they worked fine on the car they were fitted.

just goes to show what can be hidden in these old cars

What you reckon A short somewhere must have caused that and could that possible lead to burning the loom??
