Just bought some bottletops, and they came with Goodyear Eagles on them. They're datestamped 1990 and 1991 - any chance these are the original tyres?

I don't know about them being original, but if they're that old I wouldn't use them on the road.

Nah, they've come straight off the wheels and in the bin. Fitting brand new Debica Frigo for the winter :)

The wheels should also have a date stamp - if the tyres match the wheels, then they probably were the originals.

when i picked up my Merc 190 in 2009 (i was the second owner- last owner gave up driving due to age) i noticed that tyres were looking a bit thin and cracked, upon checking the dates they were all dated 1987!

Hasen to add they were all changed the next day for new rubber...the tyre fitter remarked that they were oled than him! 8O
