what to look for

what are the problem areas i should be looking out for/noises i should be listening for when buying an e30 convertable.

Rust!

Check scuttles, horse shoe, under the back seat, under the boot carpets, in the wheel wells, under the carpet, rear arches, front panels at the bottom sill.

Depends what engine's it got, but rust and a shagged roof make it very very very expensive to fix.
