steering colum joint . engine / rack conversion

has anyone tried using a 1 series joint ?
don't know if they would be any good but just seen a pic of one on ebay when I was looking for something else .

Thats too long, can tell just by the pic. In general the linkages have been made longer as engine bays have become bigger, they also have impact protection which keeps them long

fair enough Dan , i am e30less at the moment so nothing to compare to .
