hi guys, I want to lower my e30 touring, people say the best set up is 40mm drop at the back and 60mm at the front.

people say get h & r cup kit etc.. but there like £500-£600 !

I haven't got that sort of money, I just want it to look good, not bothered about high speed handling etc... just my daily run around.

I found budget JOM coilovers for £225 but I have cheap coilovers on my mk2 golf and want my bmw to be abit more comfortable and practical.

so whats the cheapest shocks and springs out there that are half decent? looking to spend no more then £250

thanks.

"HotTuning" do a set of 60/40 lowering shocks and springs for a very reasonable price. They are firm, but not crashy. And they come with a warranty.

If you run harder, lower sports springs and your original shocks, they aren't going to last too long...

Thought they were a bit more than that ( you need the ones for the convertible as Eibach dont list Touring specific ones ) but Morat is right - this is all you need to know.

Cheap coiloverz are shat and have no place on an E30.

Whoever has told you you need a 60mm drop at the front is also wrong.

Oops, they seem to have gone up a bit in the last five years! Sorry for getting your hopes up but they are still within budget.

If I remember correctly, the Cabrio springs are similar ratings to touring springs (as both have more weight at the rear) due to the cab hood setup.

Front ones should be unaffected :D

Them hot tuning ones look great and I like the price! Doesn't seem to specify which ones are for the touring though...?

If you email them they might be able to sort you out for the specific set. I think there is even a representative in the traders section of the zone.
