Ive done the hard graft on a sunroof panel and have 2 layers of colour down.
Ive wet sanded with 2400 and am going for colour again(rattle can DIY in the garden jobbie).
Paint is malachite green metallic.
Do i now wet sand 2400 then laquer or just put some laquer down for the shine then polish?

1) Never touch the metallic basecoat before you've put the clearcoat on. You'll just need to put more basecoat on afterwards.
2) 2400 is way too fine. Primer is normally sanded to about 800 if you're putting a metallic coat on top, but anything finer than that is for polishing the clearcoat.
3) You've got a limited "flash" time between putting the base down and putting the clear on top. Check the tech sheet for your paint.

1. cool
2. primer was 800 so the colour would 'stick'.
3. clear on colour when colour still tacky was my opinion.

Doesn't have to be tacky, but there's no strict rule. Most 2-pack paints give you up to 24 hours between base and clear, but rattle cans can be a lot trickier - too soon and they lift because you trap the solvent; too late and they lift because there was no stickiness.
Sounds like you're doing alright. But don't bother wetsanding the clear for at least a week as it needs time to cure, and bear in mind how thin rattlepaint really is if you're intending to polish it afterwards.

As you've primed it properly aerosols will be fine and shouldn't peel or flake.
The front won't resist stone chips as well as proper paint so will be the first bit to need doing again.
