Service Lights

So got told today that if you let your service lights run all the way down and dont get them reset in time the last green light will nevvr come back on even once the lights have been reset

If this is true i take it this is done to make it easy to spot an E30 thats has had gaps in its servicing?

is there anyway to change this my OCD makes it quite anoying

It was a local mechanic that told me, and the reason I slightly believed him is because I have reset my lights and all but the last green one is lit up

So this is total bulshizen and its pure chance that on my last 2 e30's the last green light does not light up?

Put it this way, I didn't bother resetting the lights after the last oil change but one so I was driving around with the red light on for 6 months until the most recent change. It bugged me, so the lights were reset - 5 Greens.
