Was this part ever fitted as standard to M3 coupes? The part is of the structure for strengthening on convertibles M3 as standard.

Fitted to all convertibles. Not fitted to any saloons/tourings as standard.

From the ad... "The shell is all original apart from one upgrade. The addition of the front turret struts that can be seen in the photos. These were the last two held by BMW Europe that were originally designed for the e30 M3 Cabriolet."

These were only fitted to the convertibles as standard. I think you can still buy the plates from BMW, I know of a couple people who have fitted them for added strength on track cars - I think someone on here has done it.

as above. They weren't m3 cab specific, they were fitted to all (proper bmw factory ) cabs, but never any saloons.

I've always though they looked like a good idea to add a bit of strength.
cheers,

I saw a car in a French showroom with only 5000km on it and had them fitted so kind of confused me, but I guess some people added them from the start for what ever reason

No worries 8)

I too have thought about adding them to my 2dr, coupled with a decent strut brace should make quite a difference.
