How much are they a pop?
You can get eagle F1's for Ԛ£50 or as little as Ԛ£36 if you know someone in the trade 195 50 15 if you are on standard wheels. They are excellent in the wet and also very good in the dry.
I've never experienced nankannnnggsss, so i can't really comment.

cost 18 + vat and are v rated !
they have a proper grippy tread too.
Toyos are a budget tyre and umm... "ditch finders"

the nankang ns2 is what I've fitted to my 320i
cost me Ԛ£104 for 4x 195/50/r15.
steering feel is improved over the 205/55 on the front
grip at the rear is really good-not had a hairy moment in about 1k miles, even in the really wet weather. Tread depth is good and pattern seems effective

and cheers neil
i knew someone would have them fitted
snag is im on 16s and any really good tyre is gonna cost a fortune
but the ns2,s i can get for about 30/35quid each
been looking all over the place as i usually go for eagle f1s etc and considered the toyos but i just dnt have that sort of cash to spare at the moment and my rears are now down to the bars and spinning everytime i try pull off in the wet in the auto
which is fun
but dnt wanna lose it and clip something/someone
so looks like i will give the ns2s a try unless any1 knows of any thing better for same money???
def dnt want remoulds etc
cheers all

That was probably the old T1-S?
I was well impressed with my mates T1-R's on his 350z - floored it off a roundabout and TC didn't even cut in. They seem to have harder/better pattern on the edges so better wearing, and a couple more grooves to prevent aquaplaning compared to the older toyos?

Dan, was that T1-S or T1-R tyres?
Cause I was thinking of getting some T1-R soon
Mind you part of me thought getting some winter/snow tyres would be fun - good traction if its slush/snow and overheat/slide like crazy if you drive em hard in the dry

Yeah I had the a539 on my crx briefly before some idiot wrote it off
They were alright in the dry, but didn't trust in the wet.
Still tempted to try T1-R though as they seem a big step over the T1-S
Eagle F1 - def good
Heard loads of mixed reports on SO3 though, most people seem to think the SO2's were much better (in fact when SO2's were around people seemed to almost unanimously recommend them for any car over any other tyre...)

They were raved about, as you'll find if you do a google search.
Not sure why they stopped making them, I heard somewhere it was to do with noise regulations - but that sounds like a load of bollox

Are any of you using bridgestone potenza re-050's and if so how do you find them?
Was thinking of buying a pair as my rears need changing also.
There were nangkang ns1's on the rears of my sport.Cant vouch for ns2's,the ns1's are ok in the dry,not so good in the wet.

Dont know about the 050's not heard anything special about them, I know the stock bridgestones on my mates 350z were rubbish - I think they were 040's though?
If you're thinking of bridgestone, have a look at the RE720, had them on my CRX and they were good in the wet and pretty decent in the dry too.

Yep providing
A) you can find em, cause they always seem to be on back order when I've looked
and B) you dont mind forking out a bit for your tyres (but then they are the single most important part of the car)
Anyone know a good cheap supply of Eagle F1s?

F1'a are the daddy very good in the wetor dry and last a long time. It's cheaper to buy these (or similar tyres like toyo's) in the long run than run sh!te tyres that are cheerful and wear out twice as quick.
I've learned the hard way on tyres! cheap tyres+wet roads=smash!

As I know to my cost - binned the 325i when I'd switched over to my spare rims with old budget tyres on318-is wrote:part B of your answer sums it up mate. its not a part if the car you can go budget on.
Always previously bought decent tyres, silly really.
But then I wont tell you what crud I'm running on the IS at the mo
Glad to see I learned from my mistake
Still I take it a lot more easy than I used to, esp in the wet!
When I have some spare cash to get the tyres I'll check out that place - cheers Dan

This is very true, eagle f1's are the best it seems.Ive had a set previously(but they were gsd2's)and they were excellent. There seems to be no other tire among the top manufacturers, bridgestone, pirelli, dunlop, michelin etc to get the same praises overall as the goodyear f1's.318-is wrote:i think the moral of these findings are this

im currently runnign some dunlops on my 14s til i get some proper wheels, so i cnt answer ur question dude
simon has had F1s for ages i remember him saying they are longer wearing than any other tyre also; it all depends how you drive tho

I think michelin seem to be quite hard wearing and v grippy in the dry, but maybe not so good in the wet? Don't quote me on that though318-is wrote:iv often wondered about michelin pilots but have never driven them or read revies

Mate of mine came to the ring in his crappy renault, had some budget michelin 'energy' tyres on - they had superb grip?! Bizarre, wouldn't think they were all that when it got a bit slippy though

i think the problem is with tyres people judge them to quickly. you get on a set of budgets chuck it round two corners an say these are grippy. but you need to drive a car hard to see jsut how much heat tyres can disippate
thats when you know a good tyre. my a539s when driven insanely hard around my local rounds counlt take it even in the dry!
