Drove out to Kent to see how progress was coming along with the strip down and respray.
Disappointingly slow but I cannot complain due to what I am paying, it is a trade off.
Went to visit it.

Do you know I actually completely forgot! I specifically went through to drop of the new windscreen rubber and some chrome bits and of course to take pictures.tha881 wrote:You drove all the way there to see the car and didn't take any pics to show us!?
I was expecting to be faced with a fully primed car if not black and flattened back, however I was faced with a half primed car and 2 rotten drivers wings and the words "it is probably going to be another 4 or so weeks mate"
My disappointment meant that I completely forgot to take pictures !
I will drop off the drivers wing when I find a decent one so will take pictures then.

Mate don't worry it takes time why its half primed with rusty wings on tho ? Have you been at the inside arch walls sealant etc before the paint and taken back ?
If I were you get all the exterior black trim renewed or refurbed , scuttle vents and seals and wiper arms etc , the bis k looking nice is the detail that makes a nice painted car nice
But the rubbing down and prep takes time, just be patient and wait, it soon comes

Have a word with him, and mention my name - he'll probably cut you a good deal.

All done properly. I know it seems odd but he decided to start at the back and work his way forward. So now that he has reached the front we have discovered the drivers side wing problem. Any way I guess I would prefer this way rather than a quick turn around with corners being cut.polsta wrote:Mate don't worry it takes time why its half primed with rusty wings on tho ? Yes agree about the trim but will get to that later, there is nothing in terrible condition and anything that needs attention will get the gtechniq treatment.
