Mcguard lockers - key broken by garage, help with removal

Evening gents, I have 2 out of 4 Mcguard locking wheel nuts stuck on my E30, I took it to my local garage for 2 new front tires and a removal and reseal of 1 rear, stupidly as I watched them refit the wheels I didn't realise they were using an impact gun on my mcguard lockers, the key was twisted inside, I managed to get one locker off (there was only 3 on the car as the other got lost whilst off the car one time) but the other two (drivers rear and passenger front) are well and truly on there.

BTW just to say it was Thornbury tyres in Gloucestershire that fitted them, so stay well clear! I haven't been back as I don't want them near my car again!

So Far me and my Dad have been attacking the drivers rear, I have drilled the face but it seems to hit a hardened part of the bolt after not very long where my brand new bosch drill bits just sit there and don;t even cut, I've also attacked it with and angle grinder, in an attempt to give me an edge to knock it undone with a cold chisel, the standard bolts were also on bloody tight I had to bounce up & down whilst standing on our long 1/2" chrome bar.

Any suggestions/ips for removal really welcome in this moment in time, I'm predicting couple of weeks of evening's on this

a lump hammer and smack an old, slightly to small socket over them

weld a nut / bolt on top

take it to a garage, most will have a set of locking wheel nut removers which are like large sockets with a reverse spiral cut inside, so as you try to undo the bolt they cut into its head, the harder you try and undo, the harder they bite in until eventually the bolt undoes.

They're smooth on the outside, but tried with an old socket anyway.

becuase of the 15" bbs's I don't think I would get a very good weld on there with the size of the head of the welder.

I borrowed a set of locking removal tools from my other local garage who I get on well with, but as the thread started to tighten the socket hit the wheel and pushed the socket off, if the bolt had been 1/8th of an inch longer i'd have been home and dry

just read somewhere online mcguard may be able to send me a kit to dirll them out with, although I don;t have the packet for the lockers anymore so could be interesting

I served my time doing tyres and fast fit stuff for a local tyre shop round here.Ive smashed plenty of locking nuts off using loads of different methods from jamming impact sockets on them to welding things to them

you've just got to keep at it and sometimes 5mins sitting there with a cup of tea does wonders for your concentration

Is it the type with a squiggle flower thing in the middle and smooth round tgeg outside.all one piece
or the type with a spinning collar round the outside?

If McGuard can send you a drilling kit, I'm sure they could also supply you with a replacement key.

However the way I've always done it, is to knock a slightly smaller 12 point socket over them, and then get a breaker bar on it.

take the air out of the tyre - call the aa/rac

they have a tool which they whack on and it forms a key - job jobbed!

Have you tried a cobalt or tungsten carbide drill bit? Loads of pressure and low speed. Where are you in Gloucestershire? I've got said bits in the garage if you need a hand.

beat a smaller socket on with a 4lb lump hammer,never fails.
