I'm getting the Sport some new pads soon and have been checking around various companies.

I'm getting Ԛ£140 for Mintex 1144 and Ԛ£120ish for greenstuff. Sound reasonable?

The mintex are much cheaper without the wear indicator slot (read Ԛ£40). Is it worth just doing without? I'm thinking so!

cheers 8)

I wouldn't worry about wear indicators, I did new indicators when I changed to green stuff and the light was off all summer untill the first proper rain and has been on ever since. It's such a temprmental system.

Anyway, I have green stuff and although those prices seem fair I wouldn't bother with green stuff again, I don't think braking ws so massivly improved, bite was better but at the sacrafice of feel. When I next do the brakes, not long at this rate, I think I'll just go for Pagid or some top quality original specification pads. Changing the fluid is a good idea too, as I dare say with most E30's being 15 years+ it's about time.

I had greenies on the iS. i rated them.

New fluid anyway. Think i'll just dive in with Mintex and rig the sensor so it doesn't light up like a flipping Christmas tree!

Anybody good comments on the Mintex price?

cheers

ive got the ebc red on the front with green on the back matched to the ebc drilled and grooved discs and i wouldnt use anything else, i reckon they re the best set up ive used. down side is the reds are a bit more expensive and they wear out quite quickly .the red pads cost about Ԛ£80 and the green Ԛ£50. they also tend to be a bit more sqeaky, which can get a bit annoying

Greenstuff all the way!

Tried the Mintex C-tec pads. What a load of rubbish (at least when used with power discs). In a very short space of time I bought another set of Greenstuff and chucked the mintex ones straight in the bin.

They were poor in all conditions. I.e. cold/normal hot.

The Greenstuff/ powerdisc setup is very good for standard size disc setup

As for fade, they have been well tested and stand up very well to it

i also changed the rubber flexi hoses for goodridge stainless steel items to reduce the spongy feel on hard braking and upgraded the brake fluid.not had a chance to test them on a track yet though.
