Keep it, its not going to make much difference to a wedding budget and you'll regret if afterwards...

having said that, im the man who when his missus declared she was pregnant thought it'd be the ideal time to buy a new bike rather than sell it like most other limp wristed males do...

Obvioulsy with that level of selfish motivation im no longer with the ex but I do have a Hayabusa and a lovely 535 now...!

Im guessing with a name of "Conan" you're the husband to be?

Well I was under the impression that the brides family pay for the Wedding? (something about tradition, and being glad to see the back of her) So why do you need to pay anything?

And Im not sure Id go to Egypt in light of these recent Terrorist attacks on Holiday makers!

And ive worked out that Egypt gets a terrorist attack every other year and we're giong the year its all fine.
Egypts cheap as well compared to Bahamas etc. You get same 5-Star treatment for 2/3 the price.

Tell them you can't afford to get married, so you'll continue to have your wicked way with her on their dining room table until you win the Lottery. 8)

Should get things moving, nicely. The other thing is as said above, the relatively small amount of money you'll get for selling your car probably isn't worth the hassle.

When my parents got married, the money wasn't there for an extravagent wedding and trip. So they went to a small hotel in Surrey for their honeymoon. Its about who your with, not where you go IMHO

Cool place I spent a month backpacking around it about 12 years ago
You will probably hit Luxor at some point on the cruise, I recomend a visit to the vally of the kings to see the tombs.

Entered at Taba where it meets Israel then
Dahab in the Siani
Sharm ash Shaykh
Hergarder
Luxor
Cairo
Alexandria
Suez
Mount Saiani
back to Dahab

More importantly congratulations and all the best in the newly married life mate !! That comes first and then E30s (I am getting slapped for this in a minute but its the truth)

Lower tax, not that it'll affect you, lower insurance, there're probably more benefits I've not come across yet.

I dont think so unless your boat has legs :D I went ALL OVER bus, cab, donkey, boat, train, bicyle, police station (long story about sleeping on the street), horse etc etc you get the picture

If you let me know which places your going to I could point out some other places to go.

Forgot one El Alamein big war cemetry and museum in Alexandria. Probably not the best thing for a hunnymoon but very interesting.

Mind you Alexandria is the site of one of the seven wonders of the world

the cruise goes from luxor up to the pyrimids. so you get the valley of kings, that big old temple, and some other stuff. then stay at pyrimids one nite before going over to sham el sheik (spelling). apparently beaches and snorkling etc is awesome there?

getting married has helped my BMW fetish no end! in the quest for a safe, comfortable, interesting, fast car, we've had a E21 320/6 (wifes), a E30 320i (wifes again), E34 525i sport (wifes current steed!) and my E30 325i touring (soon to me M30 powered!)... life has never been better!

my wife doesn't help out with cars as much as she used to but that's cos she's usually looking after the kids while it do them.

she's got a OND in mechanical engineering, was doing a degree in engineering before leaving due to excess poverty (same as me!) and is as mad about cars as me. she can weld a rusty car back together, change a clutch etc etc.... she knows and understands the ins and outs of RWD v FWD and believes, like me, that the rear wheels should be responsible for 90% of all steering! (when the kids aren't in the car of course)

another bonus to bering married is that you can insure a better car! the premiums fall! my wife is 23, parks her 192 bhp 5 series on the street in a semi-iffy area, has one years no claims, 2 years experience and is paying Ԛ£450 fully comp!!!! :hump: :woohoo:

good luck with it mate, marriage isn't necessarily the end of all your fun, it's the start of a whole load more (if you're lucky!) winkeye

No worries

When I visited the Vally Of The Kings in Luxor, Tutum Carmoon's (spelling???) tomb is tiny as it was built in a rush so isnt as big or splended as the others. But it was one of the few, if the only one, to be found intact. The contents are displayed in the museum in Cairo and takes up about 2 floors. Not sure about now as it was 12 years ago. best check it out.

Pick up a copy of the Lonley Plant book on Egypt it has tons of information about where to go and what to do. Link to book http://shop.lonelyplanet.com/product_de ... affil=lpdp

There are 8 pyramids at Giza where the Sphinx is. When I went there you could hire horses and a guide to take you to all of them. I did this but ment we missed the light show at the Sphinx likewise this may all be different now.

In sham el sheik (likewise, spelling). if they offer you a trip to the Blue hole take it, see link http://lexicorient.com/egypt/dahab01.htm its a really popular dive spot but even snorkling is worth it

Quick tip keep lots of low denomination notes on you for tips, some of there note were worth 25p sterling when I went. Tipping was a big thing

Used to be (12 years ago) no alcohol allowed in Dahab might have changed now. Lots of hubbly bubbly pipes, just normal tobacco.

I loved it and would love to go back. I spent a month there so really got emersed into the culture even learnt a bit of arabic.

I was 21 when I went and was not in anyway interested in archaeology but once I started reading about the tombs and the culture it really gets you interested. I did Luxor first then Cairo so saw the tombs first then the museum and it was amazing what they packed into even a small tombs like Tutum Carmoon's. Then you find out rumors that the British archaeologist that found the tomb opened it and took a couple of things out and you start wondering what he took out and where they are now.

Then there is the rumor that there is a curse on the tomb and a lot of the people at the official opening died in unusual circumstances.

Mystical place and even a month wasnt enough to scratch the surface. Very freindy place, people are lovely and really like tourists not like France

Get the Lonley Planet book its on its 7th edition so should be up to date
