quite a job to remove, bud but with some further reading may be a decent way to re-grease etc without removing.
did you get the running issue sorted?

Removing the whole sunroof tray is a bit over the top just to lubricate it! You'll find this a bit more useful: http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... he_Sunroof
Once the panel is out, it's a good idea to lubricate everything properly, which requires removal of the drive cables.
Unbolt the motor assembly and let it hang, remove all the self tappers that hold the razor sharp (you have been warned!) stainless steel pieces, and it should be obvious how to pull the cables out of the guide tubes, so that the old grease can be cleaned off and new added.

Note that the purpose of the seals is to stop wind noise and limit the amount of water that gets in. They are not waterproof, and any water getting into the cabin is a fault with the guttering system, which won't be cured by new seals.matt86 wrote:Thanks guys, i also want to inspect the rust and renew all the seals etc

thanks Brian, not getting any water in, but the mechanism/slider is stiff and doesn't seem to operate correctlyBrianmoooore wrote:Note that the purpose of the seals is to stop wind noise and limit the amount of water that gets in.
