So I'm not runining someone elses thread and alot of E30 dashes are cracked has anyone tried the route of getting a smart repair done.

for example

http://www.carmedic.co.uk/dash-repair/

If it works it sounds like a better option than spending hours swapping the dash for what looks like the same expense of buying a uncracked one.

If you have done it before, then possibly. I'm sure the guide says something like allowing for about 4 hours.

For the mean time I have much more pressing jobs to get done on the cab, going on how long it takes me at the moment to find time to work on the cab this seemed like a cheaper and much less time consuming way to solve the problem.

Being a new dad and fixing up an old turd really don't mix

In my case it wasn't hours to change it, it took around 3 months.

That was my first one mind so next time I'd hope to be able to get it down to less than 8 weeks.

I am pretty sure I read your thread a while ago which is what has been putting me off.
