Just a quickie - I've got an H&R -30mm cup kit on my 325i sport but its just too low.
I like the dampers but want some standard sport ride height springs (15mm higher than the -30mm H&R ones I've got apparently) but can't seem to find any.
Anyone got any ideas ?
Cheers

Standard sport springs are around 20mm drop.

As colin says MTECH springs are -15mm drop (when new) second hand they may sag a little further.
Not cheap springs though as they are dealer only. If its sitting low you may also have shagged bushes and other suspension components making it sag further.

Ahh right - didn't realise you can still get genuine sport springs from BMW.

I was told that any drop an aftermarket spring gives is taken from standard ride height, not Mtech height. So a -30mm kit on a 325i will be -30mm, but on a Sport will technically be -15mm.
My touring is running a 30mm drop at the front and its perfect, although as above, it could be 35+ after a bit of sagage over the years
I drive mainly shitty country lanes and have no issues with the drop.
And new bushes etc will tighten things up more so.

No, but the back is at standard height - which for a late touring I believe is Mtech height??Morat wrote:JMC, do you bottom out at the back ever?
I do however carry a lot of weight at times and even with the tyres in the arch it's never bottomed out.
I did bottom out my last touring, but that was a stupid 60mm drop (done when I bought it) and I had a large MIG welder and bottle in the boot and oxy acetylene bottles in the trailer! Caught the fuel tank on a grass verge a split the join between tank and filler neck
