What brake upgrades are you running. I have standard brakes with ebc redstuff pads and ebc discs but I keep cooking them. How good is the rx7 calliper with corrado disks? Does it mess up the bias between front and rear of car? Some of the kits (s3 willwood etc) look good but dunno if my budget can stretch that far. What options do I have on the rear?

WMS do a nice set. I have some on the front and they are more reasonable than Wilwood.

WMS also do a set for the rear, although I'm not sure if they are warranted. My rears never seemed to see much action.

280mm discs with 4-pots are night and day compared to standard. What power are you running and what's your intended use? I've never cooked my 4 pot wilwoods with my 325 (and I've tried really hard).

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

I use the 280mm kit as I wanted to stay with 15" wheels but there is also a 300mm kit available. Only used on fast road so far, but I used to obliterate yellow stuff pads where as the WMS have been epic. Quite a few guys run them on track with good feedback.

What are you using your car for?

Car is a 325 tourer. So far it has only bin used on the road.. but I live in the isle of man and there are no speed limits. Brakes are ok most the time but going over the mountain road they get absolutely cooked ontthe descent. Is it worth going up to a 16"wheels wheel to get slightly bigger brakes? Will be doing some track days this year and will be doing a conversion to m52 at some point so want something that will be suitable for extra power.

I have 540i calipers all round with matching master cylinder, 312mm front discs and 294mm rear discs, they work great and look the tits :D

I also have the WMS 4 pots with 280mm discs on the front of my track car, they work well but I have been getting brake fade quite a lot

Aren't the 540 callipers single pot? Whats the engine spec on car with wms kit? So would you suggest go bigger than 280s

 hartge wheels look so good.

I saw some on a knackered looking e30 vert at sainsburys today was going to ask the lady if she would be interested in selling them but i thought best not to as she probably doesn't have a clue

Yes they are single piston
The car with the WMS is 1000kg and around 250hp, M52 built to 3 litres, I only get fade when using them hard on track, for road use though they are more than capable 8)

I'd say if you want to keep the bias correct our kits are ideal as we've figured out all the numbers for you, and in term of pads if you have cooked Reds then I would suggest trying Yellows - but ideally Ferodo DS2500 which we're getting better and better reviews for when directly run against EBC pads.

There's no need to move to a larger wheel for the purposes of larger brakes as our 280mm kit fits the 15" BBS, and for the rear while we DO offer one it's not cheap and very few cars need it!

just for abit more choice here,
i have a set of 6 pot wilwood callipers and 345mm E46 M3 discs front and
4 Pot porsche cayenne with 328mm E46 330d rear discs.

stops on a dime and iv experienced no brake fade at all, its stopping a M60 powered E30 round the track with 17" wheels.
