Hi Guys,
I've been looking getting another E30 to use as my daily, and come across a G reg 4 Door 318i, but I've just HPI'd it and it's recorded on there as a 4 speed manual? Did they do a 4 speed or is it more likely to be an error?
Here's the details off BMW Vin if it helps

There would of been a 4 speed auto for an M40 engine, but not a 4 speed manual. Only early M10's came with 4 speed manuals.
Possibly converted and notified the DVLA?

Slim chance I guess, but I can't see the benefit of converting to a 4 speed manual? :/

Nah what I'm saying is, it might of been down as a 4 speed auto and they've just changed it to manual. There isn't actually a transmission selection on the V5, let a lone a part which tells you how many gears. So it's unlikely.
Could just be a data error.
If he says its 5 speed then go with that. He knows best

It's not from the V5, it's on experian, it's something I use at work to check vehicles, it gives us more info than the v5. It states Manual 4 Gears
As you say, probably a data error. Just have to see how the auction goes
