Swapping the door on my passenger side from one off the old E30 and iv run into trouble. The stay catch? ( the bit in the middle that pulls in and out ) only pulls out so far then jams...Its like the inertia rollers have jammed up. Any way to sort this. Brute force hasnt worked. Is the door fucked? Il upload a video if needed to demonstrate my issues

What are you trying to do?
If you undo the two bolts above and below the retaining bar the mechanism can be emoved from inside the door.
That one looks knackered now. Looks as though someone has been mullering it with mole grips.

just remove it and use the bit from the other door?
theyre supposed to be hard to move, theyre to stop the door flapping about, and the length of the door puts a hell of a lot of leverage on them.

It needs pulled out so it can be attached to the doorframe of the car. It wont pull far enough out to allow me to do that. It was like that before I was fucking with it. Il undo the bolts and get it out to see what its like
