That fun P on the instrument cluster...how do I go about making it go off when I release the handbrake?
For some reason my light is on all of the time. I found the 'switch' on the handbrake for it but fiddling with it, all I can do is dim the light a little. The car is in for it's MOT on Sat and I figure this is probably something I should fix and I can't find anything in the wiki about it and for some reason am only able to look at one page of search results on the forum.
I know there is one 'solution' I saw on line which was to remove the bulb from the IC, but that isn't fixing the actual problem, just hiding it.

Just thinking about it mine went through an MOT with this issue. I think mine was caused when the wire that connects it to the hand brake was disconnected for some reason.

It should only come on if a) it is connected to the switch b) there is a short somewhere.
I found this elsewhere:

Seems to suggest that I should d/c the cable and see what happens. I'll probably end up putting it in for the MOT with the light on I just suspect if my tester is fussy (wasn't on my Mondeo) then it'll fail.
